18 medals at the East District Championships for the Hawks

There were many fantastic displays on show by the Hawks at the East District Championships at Grangemouth over the weekend with the Hawks emerging with 5 district champions, 10 silver medalists and 3 bronze medalists.

For the seniors Dave Williamson won gold for his Shot Putt throwing 11.29m and Paula Murray won gold for her Javelin throw of 36.41m. At u17 level Declan Gall had a great run in the 400m hurdles winning gold in a fantastic time of 57.48secs which is also a new club record. For the u17 women Shaney McCabe showed fantastic spirit not giving up to win gold right on the line in the 300m (41.74secs). In the under 13 age group Blair Scott ran his way to another 75m hurdles PB claiming gold in 13.74 secs.

Silver medals were aplenty with Dave Williamson claiming one for his Discus throw (27.85m). At u20 level Rhys Paterson bagged 2 silvers in the 100m (11.42secs) and 200m (22.84secs). There were also 2 silvers for Katie Patullo in High Jump (1.55m) and in the 100m hurdles (15.06). At u17 level Michael Tarnawsky also claimed 2 silvers at 100m and 200m with times of 11.6secs and 23.65secs. Not to be outdone Andie Goodman repeated this medal haul for the u17 women with silvers at 100 and 200m in times of 12.75secs and 25.93secs. In the u15 girls age group Niamh Robertson ran a great 75m hurdles to get silver in 12.04secs.

There were also 3 bronze medals for the Hawks. Katie Patullo added a third medal to her own tally with a bronze in the 400m hurdles (1:05:03secs). Michael Tarnawsky also added to his tally with a bronze in the triple jump with a jump of 12:04m and James Donald ran to Bronze in a strong 1500m field finishing in a time of 4:12:30.

Well done to all the athletes who took part with many others making finals and setting new PBs.
