It was the turn of Broxburn to host the final meet of the East District XC League and there was a big turnout from the Hawks yet again with representation across all the age groups.
The course was challenging with everything from frost, mud and knee deep water to negotiate. One of the u11s reported a few floating shoes in their race!
Everyone ran well with some really good performances. In u11 girls Lesley Rogers improved her position yet again to finish 27th (7:24) over a 1.4km course. All the u11 boys enjoyed their runs with Scott Vigrow highest placed in 22nd (6:14).
The u13 boys had good runs too over a 2.7km course with both Blair Scott and Aidan Simpson finishing well up the 55 strong field. Blair was 10th in 10:56 and Aidan 12th in 11:08. In the u13 girls race over the same distance Iona McLeod was top finisher in 27th (12:41).
The u15 boys ran a 4.1km course. Jack Anderson finished highest placed for the u15s having a great run to place 16th in 15:55. U15 and u17 girls ran together over the same course as the boys. U15 Maddie Owen was first Hawk for the girls finishing in 20th (18:05).
Over a 5.4km course Andrew Merry was first home for the u17men. Andrew ran to 14th place in 20:41. The senior/junior women ran the same route with u20Kirsty Reynolds representing the club and putting in a solid performance to finish 74th in 28:31.
The last race of the day was the senior/junior men who covered an 8.1km route. Billy Gibson was first senior Hawk finishing 41st (31:40) from a field of over 200! Bruce Scott was the first veteran Hawk finishing 4th vet and 55th overall (32:23).
A great day out and my toes are nearly warm again!! Well done to everyone who ran. Full results will be posted to the results page once they become available.
