HAWKS 2013 TRAIL RACE CHAMPIONSHIP
Multi terrain and trail races are increasingly popular events combining cross country, road & even hill running to provide fun and challenging courses. Courses vary hugely with road shoes being fine for some events whereas studs are best for others and underfoot conditions on the day play a big part, depending on the [recent] weather! To be eligible, complete any 6 races from the list. The points scoring is based on the WAVA age & gender equalising scoring system [ask Ian McNulty!]. In 2012, the inaugural champ was ‘hyper’ veteran, Steve Cromar – will he retain his crown in 2013 or be toppled…….it’s up for grabs and up to you! Most of the exact dates aren’t available now, so check the usual websites etc for precise details nearer the time. (*Note that the Forfar Half was filling up fast : *Devilla Forest too [online entry only]. *Camperdown Parkrun is free but you must register in advance to get a barcode and thus an official time).

HAWKS 2013 ROAD RACE CHAMPIONSHIP
These races have been selected as they are reasonably local and incorporate a variety of distances with midweek and weekend events spaced out between February and November. To encourage wider participation, only 5 events need to be completed this year. Some races are included by special request [Louise, Roger & Lucy]! Check the usual websites etc for precise details where none was known at the time of printing this list.
Six points will be awarded to the first Hawk in each category, 5 to the second and so on in descending order. If you do more than 5 counting races, the best 5 will be counted. Awards will be made in different age & gender categories e.g. senior, MV40, FV40, MSV50 etc. In the event of a tie on points, the runner with the fastest race profile will win.
