It has been an amazing 2015/16 Indoor season for the Hawks. With our inclusion in the Scottish Athletics Indoor League for the first time it gave a lot of our athletes their first taste of indoor action. Along with our athletes peaking at the right time for National and School Championships it has been a successful season.
25 athletes (13 male & 12 female) set or broke 47 club indoor records .
These records ranged from U11 boys and girls through to Seniors and Masters with many of them broken on more than one occasion.
The undoubted highlight was Laura Muir running 2:00.70 for 800m to put her in 2nd place on the Scottish all time rankings.
Andrea Goodman broke the U20 women’s 60m record on 5 occasions and the 200m record twice, Rachel Broadfoot broke the U15 60m Hurdles record 4 times and also broke the long jump record twice.
Declan Gall broke the U20 60m Hurdles record 3 times (and set 3 other individual event records in 400m, high jump and shot putt), James Donald the U20 1500m record 3 times as well as breaking the 800m and 3000m records and Lucas Goff the U11 boys 60m record 3 times including an Indoor League U11 best performance.
Mike Tarnawsky set or broke Masters M40 records for 6 different events (60, 100, 200, 400, long jump and triple jump)
There were also athletes who set records on 2 occasions including Katie Patullo who smashed the U20 Women’s 60m Hurdles record on her way to winning the Scottish U20 title and Josh Taylor who set U13 Long and High Jump records.
Well done everyone who competed for the club and good luck for the rest of the year. 🙂
