Some of the senior men made the long journey north for the second counter in this years road championship. After an overnight stay in Inverness(including a late night fire alarm) the guys set off for Lossiemouth in near perfect conditions. This was a beautiful point to point route between the two RAF bases in the area along quiet country roads. The race was won by Aberdeen AAC’s Will Mackay in a time of 1:08:07.
First home for the Hawks in second place was Billy Gibson followed by Chris Walsh(4th) and Gary Bruce(7th) to retain the team prize for the club. There were also PB performances for Munro Stewart, Kenny Liddell and Andrew Leech.
This was a great event which had a really friendly feel and was well worth the journey for the post race feed alone. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a flat, fast course to start the year off in style!!!
