Well done to all the runners in the 2 teams that travelled to the West Coast for the Midsummer relays that took place over the stretch of the West Highland Way between Tyndrum and Fort William. The first leg from Tyndrum to Glen Coe Ski centre is 17.5 miles..the second leg from Glen Coe, up the Devils staircase and down to Kinloch Leven is 10 miles and the 3rd leg from Kinloch Leven to Fort William is 14.5 miles.
The Hawks mixed team (Craig Love, Chris Walsh and Louise Beveridge) finished 5th out of 35 teams covering the 42 mile course in 5 hrs 34mins and 21 secs. Brilliant effort.
The all male team of Lee Strachan, Billy Gibson and Bruce Scott also put in a good shift until 7 miles into leg 3 and with a mile lead Bruce took a tumble that there was no coming back from. Lee had finished his leg in second before handing to Billy who had moved the team up to 1st.
Unlucky for the boys and a huge well done to the mixed team.
