The venue for day 2 of the Minitour of Fife was East Lomond Hill at Falkland. The sun was out for a change and it made for a great nights racing.
The u9s and u11s covered a 1 mile route that took them to the top of the hill where they about turned and came back down again. U13s and above did a 2 mile route that took them to the top of the hill…down the other side then back again..phew!!
Calum Gibson had another good run for the u9s finishing the challenging race in 2nd (14:22).
For the u11s Isla Manning led the Hawks girls round finishing 5th in 14:59. Lara Manning was 9th (16:16) and Grace Matthews 10th (16.22).
Special mention to Jack Donald u11s who despite being knocked over and injured on the start line, picked himself up and completed the race. Jack finished tonight in 25th (19.27). Great effort Jack.
In the u13 male category Blair Scott had a strong run (he likes hills!!??😳) to finish 2nd, covering the 2 mile course in 20:05.
Ryan Donald also followed the 3 mile course for u15s and finished 7th in 22:56.
Going into race 3 both Callum Gibson and Blair Scott are sitting in 2nd place overall. Isla Manning is currently 4th and Ryan Donald 6th.
Its over to Morton of Pitmilly at Kingsbarns tomorrow night for the trail race…round 3…Good luck.
