Minitour of Fife Day 5

After 4 days of tough racing it was over to Kingsbarns for the last race in the Minitour series. What happened to the sunshine??? 11 degrees😩..

This final challenge was a multi terrain course..approx 1 mile for the u9s and u11s (starting and finishing down on the beach) and just under 5km for the older age groups (the first part through woodland on trail and the last 800m right over the “soft sand” stretch of the beach…cruel finish).

For the u9s Calum Gibson rounded of the series with his 4th win in 5 races clocking 6:36 to win the overall competition. Nice running Calum!!

For the u11s Isla Manning kept up her fantastic running with a 3rd in a time of 6:31 giving her 3rd place in the overall series. Sister Lara was consistent all week rounding off her tour with another 5th place placing her 6th overall and Grace Matthews put in another good performance to finish 9th in 7:31 (8th in the series).

Jack Donald had his highest placing of the week with an 8th place finish. Well done Jack. This moved him up to 17th in the series.

For the u13s Blair Scott tackled the longer course running to his fourth 2nd place of the week finishing in 18:20. This meant 2nd place for him in the overall series.

Well done also to Ryan Donald who completed the first 3 races in the series. Ryan just turned 13 this week so ran in u15s and put in 3 good runs before stepping down to prepare for Scottish schools this weekend.

What a really great week it has been and what a great event. Varied runs and lots of smiles on the kids faces. It was a pleasure to watch their commitment and determination.

Well done to the ‘Hawks 7’…you did yourselves proud.👏
