National Cross Country – Falkirk

It was a glorious sunny day through in Falkirk as the Hawks travelled to Callander Park for the National Cross Country Championships. The course was a tough one but there were some fantastic runs none the less. The highlight of the day has to be James Donald’s bronze medal at u17 level. He had a fantastic run, going it alone in 3rd for much of the race and holding of a late challenge in the final straight. Brilliant James. Individually Jack Dalgety had a superb run at u13 level to finish 20th in a field of 155 and Anna Bennett (despite a nasty spike injury at the start) finished 24th in u15s. There was also a podium finish and bronze medal for the u13 boys team (Jack, Aidan, Scott and Blair), however the final results have since been published and it appears there was a mistake on the day😕. The actual winners Moorfoot were missed so the boys have been pushed down to 4th, but with 42 teams in this category it was a good achievement. For the seniors, George Foster in his last race for the Hawks finished a fantastic 61st out of 631 finishers and our highest placed lady, Louise Beveridge was 100th out of 264 finishers. Great running everyone. 👍
