14 Hawks made their way to the Emirates Arena, Glasgow for the National Indoor Open. Main highlights were : –
Laura Muir with a superb 800m run in 2:01.11 following up shortly after with an 400m indoor pb of 55.36 improving her own club record.
Under 15 Rachel Broadfoot broke the existing 60m Hurdles club record of 9.88 with a time 9.67 though we are awaiting the formal results from last weekend’s indoor league match where we believe Rachel ran 9.58. She also improved her 60m time to 8.32 taking more than two tenths of a second off her previous pb.
In the 1500m James Donald improved on the U20 men’s record of 4:10.58 previously held by Matthew White with a fine run of 4:07.35.
Mike Tarnawsky set 2 inaugural Masters indoor records with a 400m of 58.25 and triple jump of 11.07m and improved his own 200m record to 24.93.
Other highlights included two new personal bests for U17 Niamh Robertson with a 60m Hurdles run of 9.67 and 300m of 43.38 and Michael Tarnawsky with an indoor pb in the U20 men 400m of 53.22 and equalling his 200m pb of 23.21. Under 17 Scott Oswald equalled his high jump pb of 1.55m and improved his 60H to 10.50. Not to be outdone by elder brother James, Ryan Donald ran 4:58.72 for 1500m with younger brother Jack running 5:51.25.
