Ron MacIntosh carried the Olympic torch through the streets of Dundee last night as part of the torch relay around the UK. The streets were lined with wellwishers (mostly DHH members and friends) encouraging Ron along (not that he needed much encouragment) Ron proudly walked the 300m or so beaming a big wide smile all the way.
The whole event was a big success, with a party atmosphere in Baxter Park where the cauldron was lit. Ron arrived at the park where he was sought out by lots of media crews for interviews.
The one downside was that the Hawks Radio Quiz team (Gordon Barrie, Mark Lamb and Dave Hanlon) as part of the BBC's live broadcast during the event, only came second in the quiz.narrowly beat by 8 points to 7 by Mennzieshill Water Polo Club. SIlver was good though!!
