Well it was an extremely cold but bright and sunny day today at Livingston as the Hawks headed through for the East District XC Champs. We were severely depleted by illness and injury before we got there...then went for the Hawks record (not sure there is one but there must be now!) for the most DNS and DNF ever 🙈 with a fair few succumbing to injury and pesky colds on the day. These bugs are hitting everyone with poor timing! HOWEVER there were a few awesome highlights. 😀 We medaled twice! Senior Kris Jones finished with silver and u20 James Donald bronze. Super runs from them both. 👍At u17 level Kristof Hornyik finished a super 5th...just missing 4th by a whisker! Also at u17 Ryan Donald had a fab run finishing 13th and at u13 level Warren Lorente ran strongly to a 12th place finish. Well done to you all.....and get well soon to all those who couldn't travel and who were not firing on all cylinders today. You all get a well deserved rest now....and me too...Woopee! The Hawks are in desperate need of a Social Convener. This is mainly to organise the Summer presentation evening - June time (When the xc, Road and Indoor Track and Field trophies are given out) and Winter Presentation evening where the trophies earned over the summer months are given out. (Usually done in November). It would only involve organising venue, timings and catering for these 2 events) All the trophies are already dealt with. It is hoped that we can get together a group of 3 or 4 to share this with one person perhaps taking the lead to coordinate. I put out a similar cry for help last year but had no one volunteer 😞 The club is such a size now that the committee is becoming more and more stretched and we really need new people on board who are willing to take on these events.
