On what was a beautiful Sunday morning, a number of Hawks made the trip up to Knockburn Loch for the second race in the winter XC series. The u11s ran 1mile and the u13s/u15 girls 2 miles respectively round a fairly flat course which went round the edge of the loch but u15 boys and upwards had to tackle a tougher more hilly route. There were many good performances on the day with the Hawks once again coming home with a few medals.
In the U17 3mile race James Donald once again led the way finishing 1st in a time of 17:39. Davey Begg had a strong run to finish 3rd in the u15 boys race over the same course (20:06) and Dianne Harrower got silver for the veteran females again over the 3 miles in 25:57.
Team prizes are also given for first team in u11, u13 and u15 races.
Although not yet confirmed or given out on the day, it also looks like the u13 boys came away with team first with lovely runs over 2 miles from Aidan Simpson 4th (12:12), Blair Scott 5th (12:17) and Ryan Donald 8th (13:05) to pip Aberdeen by a single point.
Once again well done to all that ran. Full results will be posted ASAP.
