What a great day out we all had at Alloa on Saturday with a full bus and a number of cars going through, 38 juniors and no less than 17 seniors competing.
The Alloa course is testing and on Saturday it was also very muddy. If it was a bit muddy for the u11s at the start of the day then it was a swamp for the senior men by the end. Everyone seemed to enjoy it.
There were some really good results. Top picks were the u17 men who finished 3rd and 4th (James Donald and Andrew Merry) leading the u17 team to a 2nd place finish with Calum McCormack also in a top 20 spot in 19th. (First 3 Hawks are counters for the team) If that wasn’t quite enough the u13 boys finished as 1st team with Aidan Simpson, Blair Scott and Jack Dalgety finishing 9th, 10th and 11th.
For the u11 boys, Josh Taylor had a top 20 finish (15th) as did Lola Venditozzi for the u11 girls finishing 19th. In the u15 girls section Anna Bennett also had a good run to place 12th.
For the seniors Gordon Barrie was top Hawk in the men’s race finishing 29th overall (1st vet) with Billy Gibson not far behind in 37th.
If there was a prize for attitude and determination it had to go to Matthew Tully (u13 boys). Matthew lost his shoe in the first few hundred metres but carried on for a good bit until this was spotted and he was told to stop.
Great day..great results! Well done everyone.
