18 Hawks athletes represented their schools at the Scottish Schools Championships at Grangemouth Stadium last Friday and Saturday and came away with 9 medals, finalists in 7 other events and loads of pb’s despite the inclement weather.
There were Gold medals for Under 20’s James Donald (pictured) in 5000m (15:23.48), Declan Gall in 400m Hurdles (56.46) and Katie Patullo in 100m Hurdles (15.24) with U15 Rachel Broadfoot also winning the 75m Hurdles in a superb new club record of 11.51. Rachel also won silver in the long jump with 5.08m along with U20 Andrea Goodman in 200m (25.51). Bronze medals were won by Maria Akunna in 400m (58.84), Niamh Robertson in 300m Hurdles (47.06 pb) and Michael Tarnawsky (pictured) in Triple Jump (12.37m).
Other finalists were Jamie Reid (U15) 100m / 200m, Blair Scott (U15) 800m, Michael Tarnawsky (U20) 100m, Niamh Robertson (U17) 80m Hurdles and Eilidh Reynolds (U20) 400m / 800m.
