It was a successful day up in Aberdeen for the Hawks on Sunday at the first fixture in the Winter XC Series. They returned to Dundee with 5 medals to show for there efforts and a number of top 10 placings.
In the boys under 11 age group Scott Vigrow was first Hawk putting in another good performance to finish the 1 mile course just out of the medals in 4th. In the boys under 13s Blair Scott was first Hawk over the 2 mile course and also not far out of the medals in 5th.
One of our u15 girls (Danielle MacDermid) had a great run over the same course as the u13 boys finishing 3rd with a bronze medal. Not to be outdone our under 15 boys Hawk (Davey Begg) also finished 3rd getting bronze in his age group over a 3 mile course.
Another medal came the Hawks way in the u17 boys category. James Donald also ran over a 3 mile course and came 1st getting a gold for his efforts. Isabel Remers put in another good performance to be first female u17 Hawk home finishing in 8th.
A few seniors were also running on Sunday and could choose between a 3 or 6 mile route. In the senior men’s category over the 6 mile course Bruce Scott was first Hawk and came away with gold as 1st V 40.In the female 6 mile race Catriona Reynolds was just out of the medals finishing as 4th v40.
In the 3 mile race Kenney Letham was first Hawk and 4th v40. Our 5th medal of the day went to Diane Harrower who finished 3rd in the V40 category.
Not a bad day out……
